Maracas

The mexican people are also known to be music loving people. Normally when you mention the word mexico, the images that comes to mind are ’sombreros’ (or hats), guitars and maracas.

Maracas belongs to the percussion group of instruments. It is made up of  dried coconut shells, and is sealed to create a more distinct sound every time it is shaken. Maracas are also referred to as rhumba shakers. This instrument is popularly used by professional Mexican singers and is likewise enjoyed by children. You can walk into any souvenir shop and get your own set as a souvenir. There are miniature creations that serves as key chain souvenirs too.
