Here are some practical tips that I can share with you when you arrive in Mexico. I will be doing two parts of articles with this topic because I have a lot to share with you.

Car Valets in Mexico

Once you arrive in Mexico and decided to rent your own car from the Airport going to your hotel or when you go to restaurants and bar, and you have your car parked by valet service, you may want to tip the attendant around with $1 or its equivalent in Mexican peso when you leave. Unless of the establishment pre advertised a higher rate of the service, you can just leave without tipping.

Porters in Mexico

When you arrive at a bus station, hotel, or airport, porters nearby usually waits for tourists to take their bags. If you want to avail with their services, you can pay them $1 per bag or in the Mexican peso equivalent. This is sufficient enough, unless there are more bags that the porter carries or your bag is an over-sized luggage or heavier than the normal luggage.

Check out more of my practical tips on my next posts.

If you are going to Mexico in your next travel or vacation, here are some tips on how to get around the City:

Mexico offers residents, vacationers and visitors an extensive network of transportation system. You can use public or private vehicles to get around Mexico. Transportation comes in very affordable prices with efficiency.

If you are on a very tight budget, you have the option to ride a public transportation in Mexico once you arrive in the airport going to your hotel. This is the cheapest mode of transportation. Disadvantage of this is that it is a little bit daunting if you do not speak Spanish and if you are not accustomed to traveling on metro systems and buses.

Buses travel is also an excellent way to get around the city of Mexico. You can have a complete guide to the city with professionally run bus services. You can also take a taxi and other private hire cars or van. They are also affordable as compared to car rental in the USA.

MExicali is the capital of the Mexican state of Baja California, which is also the westernmost state of Mexico. Today the major industries in Mexicali are horticulture and in-bound assembly, with installations by many of the world’s greatest corporations operating in the municipality. Mexicali is the 13th most populated municipality in Mexico, reflecting its status as a busy ecoinomic hub.

Mexicali is a relatively new settlement. Before the arrival of the Spanish, the region was inhabited by various indigenous tribes of the Yuman branch, the major groups being the Cocopah and Kiliwa. For many years the Spanish stayed away from the northern parts of Baja California, perceiving it to be uninhabitable. The only settlement was established by the Jesuits at first, who also abandoned the area at around 1781. It was not until the discovery of the fertility of the soil of the region by engineers of the South Pacific Railroad that the area saw permanent settlement.

From the net media: “Soon, whale watching season will come to an end in San Diego. Gray whales are migrating past our coast on their way to Baja, then back up to the arctic. You can spot them by boat or kayak as they make the annual journey, but what exactly are they doing down there in Mexico?

Scammons Lagoon in Baja California is one of a few places where you can get close enough to count the barnacles on a whale. Winter through early spring is prime time to get an intimate look at gray whales mating and giving birth. Andiamo Tour Mexico takes you into the lagoon on a panga to see it all.

“This is when you see the biggest variety of activity so you’ll have the couples who come down to mate,” Andiamo Tour Mexico owner Maria Mitrani said.

Traveling south is no easy task. It’s one of the longest mammal migrations, at more than 10,000 miles round-trip from the cold Arctic Ocean. But it’s no wonder they travel so far – the lagoons of Baja provide warm water and shelter.

A naturalist from Birch Aquarium at Scripps is helping us keep an eye out for a friendly whale. Some believe that if you sing, they will come. At first, nothing happens. As soon as you think the whales have lost interest, they surprise you with a brilliant show by breaching.

“We saw tons of mating, we had a whale breach 10 times in a row which i have never seen before and it was amazing to see a large animal throw its body out of the water,” SIO Whale Watching Coordinator Staci Shaut said.

But it doesn’t end there. A curious whale decides to move in. Most of us have only seen pictures of this unique connection between humans and whales. Those who experienced it had a hard time putting it into words.

There is still some time left in this whale watching season. Birch Aquarium at Scripps is leading its next excursion March 25-29. We’ve been told that the end of March is when you tend to see more playfulness with the whale moms and their calves.” Photos via Flickr.

Los Cabos is located at the southern tip of Baja California, in the eastern state of Baja Califonia Sur.

The economy of municipality is based on fishing on a local level, but tourism based industries are gaining a more dominant role with every passing year. This trend is not unique to Los Cabos, but is confirmed by developments in other resort areas of the nation. Golf and sport fishing also constitute an increasing portion of the municipality’s revenues.

Sunshine with all its glory, love with fire and passion, and beauty without restraint are the features of Los Cabos. Go seek the secrets with avidity, and you’ll never regret what you find.

La Paz, Mexico is becoming more and more of a tourist destination. Located in Baja California, La Paz has a population of around 200,000. With tourism being the city’s number one source of income, La Paz happily will open its arms to tourists.

The main attraction for those who visit La Paz is its world class marinas. If you love water, you will love La Paz. All types of water related adventures can be had in the sea outside of La Paz.

Additionally, many tourists are attracted by the seemingly always good weather, the low cost of living and the friendly locals. Since La Paz isn’t a very big city, it has a much different feel than other touristy towns in Mexico. It’s also a relatively safe city filled with over 500 years of history.

If you are staying in La Paz, one of the best places to say is Hotel Los Arcos. Located close to both the water and downtown, this colonial-style building looks beautiful on both the outside and the inside. With very reasonable prices and a number of amenities, Hotel Los Arcos is the preferred hotel by many of the tourists who visit La Paz.
