ECO TOURISM IN CUATRO CIENEGAS, COAHUILA July 19
Sitting in a bathtub-warm water in the middle of the desert looking at the surrounding mountains under a deep blue sky is a delightful experience here in “Cuatro Cienegas”, a mexican Biological Reserve. Just outside the Town of Cuatro Cienegas, north-west of Monclova in the state of Coahuila. It comprises over 843 square miles and around 200 pozas, or ponds.
The Biological Reserve are small Ecosystems with unique fauna and flora that are highly protected by Government Authorities. There are some 150 different plants and animals that are unique in this place, including some 30 aquatic species in the reserve, 8 of which are fish.
This crystalline body of water is the clearest example of aquatic beauty in the region. The quality of its water, obvious by its clarity and turquoise blue color, makes this site a fascinating natural marvel.
In this marvel of mexico desert you can perform various Eco-tourism Activities, such as swimming, diving and snorkeling in the puddles of beautiful blue or turquoise. One of the best places to do this is Poza Azul. This is one of the most visited Resorts, both in its infrastructure-grills, palapas, health, etc, as the temperature of its warm waters.
