While the city of Torreon isn’t one of the most well-known Mexican cities, it’s a large and quickly growing town in the state of Coahuila. It is home to Francisco Sarabia International Airport which has flights coming in and going to the United States on a daily basis. With a population of about half a million people, Torreon always has something going on.

Going on a vacation to Torreon is a very fine option if you are looking to go on a vacation to Mexico. Of all the towns in the northern part of Mexico, Torreon is famous for arguably having the best educational structure and it has many shopping malls that are very much like those found in the United States. The architecture in some of the older landmark buildings and churches is very beautiful. You can also find plenty of great shopping in downtown Torreon.

Another great aspect about Torreon is it is a very active city. Many sports are played in and around the city, with soccer being the sport of choice. In fact, Torreon is home to one of the best professional soccer teams in all of Mexico. Baseball is another popular sport in the town.

Hotels within the city limits are very reasonably priced. Crowne Plaza Torreon is usually regarded as the best hotel in Torreon. The rooms are spacious, clean and elegantly decorated. There is a bar on the premises that has great prices – especially during happy hour. Crowne Plaza Torreon also has a fine dining restaurant and a buffet to choose from when you get hungry.
