PUEBLA MEXICO May 21
The city of Puebla is located between Mexico city and the port of Veracruz. It’s nickname is Puebla de los angeles or La Angeolopolis. It is one of the oldest colonial cities in the continent. Puebla is the fourth most populous metropolitan area in Mexico and it is well known as a cultural world heritage.
The historic center of the city still contains much Spanish treasure filled with elegant 17th and 18th century European architecture and art. Of all the colonial buildings, the most impressive is the Puebla Cathedral, built in a mixed neoclassical style.
What can you do in Puebla? Well you can visit it’s 4 different museums well known as the Automobile Museum, Museo nacional de los ferrocarriles mexicanos, Biblioteca Palafoxiana and the Amparo Museum.
One of my favorite places in Puebla is the africam safari zoo. There are approximately 3000 animals of 250 species that live in complete liberty, it has a picnic section, a souvenirs shop, a camel ride and a restaurant. Most of the tour is done inside vehicles, so this is a nice place where you can spend the day with your family and enjoy the creation. and don’t forget your camera.
Puebla is also famous for it’s gastronomy, you can find a lot of mexican restaurants where you can enjoy the real mexican food like mole poblano, a chocolate-chile sauce poured over turkey or chicken, this dish was invented here and it is Mexico’s national dish. Other poblano specialties include:Chiles en Nogada, meat stuffed green peppers covered with a walnut-pomegranate sauce and tacos arabes, spit roasted, seasoned pork serve in puffy wheat tortillas. But if you don’t like it because some times is hot and spicy don’t worry Puebla also has Macdonals, Burger king and Carls Jrs. as well as other international restaurants.
If you want to take Mexican souvenirs, the local market La Victoria is the perfect place to go. It specializes in talavera pottery, ceramics and glassware.This market is located near the zocalo.
Where to stay? There are different kinds of hotels where you can stay, like Fiesta Americana, Fiesta Inn, Real de Puebla, Camino Real and many more, most of them are found near the zocalo.
