Mexico is a nation that boasts of a rich diversity of wildlife. Its national parks and reserve areas are home to many protected species some of which exist only in the borders of this nation.

But rare species is not the only unque aspect of this interesting nation. Mexico is also home to a large number of native people who live scattered across the country, and resist the temptation to assimilate into the mainstream.

The Spanish treated their own native subjects in much more humane and sensible way in comparison to their colonizing colleagues to the north. While today there is little left of the once dominant Native American Civilization, the Mixtec, Zapotecs, the Maya, and many othjer native tribes have contributed greatly to the nation’s prosperity and success. Indeed, Benito Juarez, one of the greatest leaders of Mexico, was himself of Zapotec origins.
