Pilots! – The airport at Cabo San Lucas is fantastic! They are a full-service FBO, a LOT less hassle than San Jose del Cabo, and friendly as can be! Email the managers all the information on your arrival/departure and they will take care of everything! You will be very pleased, I assure you!

This Cabo International airport sports a wonderful image in visitors thoughts until you get stuck inside waiting for your flight out. Arrival was non-eventful. It was the departure that reminded every traveler that this place hasn’t risen to the First World. The temperature in the sealed barrel building was in the mid 90′s, humidity was equally up there and no air circulation was anywhere. It could have been New Delhi 25 years ago. Sweltering heat and a building filled with waiting travelers gave it a Mexican stink. Whether this was a mechanical fluke or just business as usual sure did not make those ladies of luxury and groomed men stop their makeup from running down their faces or your linen shirt welded to your shoulders with sweat. Hard to believe that those hotels offering luxury beyond compare allow their pampered guests get thrown into a free 2 hour sauna.
It sure stinks of Mexican Government incompetence. This growing community wants all the tourist dollars it can but makes certain you get that unforgiving taste of something wrong!
The whole operation of air traveler safety was signified by using the abundance of lowly labor. All bags were checked by the hands of people that Mexico is in no short supply of. No electronic scanning equipment is available. Just those curious hands that go through your well folded and carefully packed bags.
So travelers…..be advised and be ready for the 3rd world and hordes of hands that wish to make your travels an enjoyment. Some parts of Mexico has a long way to go.
