If you want to see one of the most fantastic historical/archeological sites of the Mayan people, then the Mayan Ruins of Tulum could be an excellent choice. The Tulum Mayan Ruins were once upon a time an important trading port for the Mayan people, welcoming canoes and ships that would come to trade.
Today, not only are the actual pyramids and structures still in well-preserved condition but they overlook one of the most gorgeous beaches in the world. At the peak of the pyramids you will at the top of 12 meter cliffs with a spectacular view. Then, there are some stairs to go down to the beach that has emerald colored water, to go for a dip to cool down from the energizing time in the sun.
Tulum and it’s ruins are located 128km south of Cancun so you can even visit this special place for a day trip or if you prefer a more quiet and less developed area you can stay in Tulum’s town, only minutes away from the pyramids.
