Except Mondays, hang-out on Calle Pescadores at Marinos in San José del Cabo until midnight. After visiting San Joe’s art district try some great-tasting food in Taqueria el Ahorcado like tacos, quesadillas and enchiladas stuffed with carnitas or marinated pork, flor de calabaza or squash blossoms, rajas or poblano chilies and soupy charros-style beans with hot corn tortillas. The only disadvantage is that it lacks liquor license but it won’t hinder you to have real fun because you can bring your own cerveza.

If you are planning to visit El Chillar in San Jose del Cabo, keep in mind that they are not accepting credit cards so that you can have handy cash. The narrow dining room and Virgin of Guadalupe murals should not taken you aback and thus raise your curiosity on why this place has lots of visitors. Chef Armando Montana’s specialties revolve on multiple courses of traditional and oriental dishes like rack of lamb with chili ancho and sugar-cane honey. Don’t just rush into going to bougainvillea-filled Damiana in San Jose del Cabo because you might run out of seats. Have a reservation before heading to this restaurant inside 150 years old hacienda especially on weekends. Why not try its romantic outdoor patio while having a good time with delicious mexican-European food. Mostly meat and fish, you would not dare to miss the Imperial Shrimp Steak or a fillet of succulent shrimp knit together and grilled. Open daily, the indoors is likewise beautiful with its traditional Baja and folk art decorations as well as high and wood-beamed ceiling.
