Punta Mita is an outpost of Eden which happens to be located in Nayarit in this incarnation of the universe, if you subscribe to such hypotheses. If not, it’s a carbon copy of Eden.

The undescribably beauty of its beaches, the matchless scenery of its landscape, its pleasing climate, and warm people all ensure that this is a place where you will fall in love instantly with the boundless charm of the atmosphere. The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is located 26 miles from Puerto Vallata on one of mexico’s most beautiful white-sand beaches. The Punta Mita resort has 173 rooms, all decorated with tile-roofs and furnished in the modern mexican fashion. All rooms have balconies with views of the water and the nearby mountains.

The casitas at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita have large sliding doors, a 161-square-foot terrace (with hammocks), air conditioning, multiple ceiling fans, a queen sofa bed, TV with a DVD and CD player, high-speed internet access, a large marble bathrooms with a deep tub and a separate shower. CHINKULTIC ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK

The ancient maya ruins of Chinkultic, situated on the western edge of the lakes of Monte Bello Chiapas, offer interesting temples, ancient buildings to explore, and amazing views across the area’s landscape and jungle. The site is within easy reach of the town of Comitan and a great stop-over on the way to or back from the lakes of Monte Bello.

The site dates back to as far as 600 AD, and was probably one of the western most outpost of the Maya civilization. The site is not as well excavated as other Mayan sites such as Palenque and Chichen itza, but the location is well worth visiting because it offers a good atmosphere and nice views from the Acropolis at the top of the hill.

Chinkultic only requires an hour or two at the most to visit. As you enter the site, you will walk past several structures which are still only partially excavated and still covered by extensive vegetation, including the plaza undida (the sunken Plaza), From the top of the hill, you can explore some ruined remains of the site’s acropolis main temple and get some great views of the surrounding landscape and jungle. It’s very quiet and serene here.

Below and to the left as you look out from the Acropolis, you will see a cenote, an ancient water reservoir. This cenote is especial in the sense that it is the only known one in the state of Chiapas. The site is very much out in the jungle, it’s very hot and humid so sunscreen, bottled water and insect repellent are essential here.
