Monclova is an important city in the Mexican state of Coahuila. It was first established as a Ville in 1577, and was the capital of the state of Nueva Extremadura, and then Coahuila y Tejas succesively, but since the 1836 constitution of Mexico, it is a municipality in the state of Coahuila.
Monclova is a settlement of around two hundred thousand people, and its is the steel capital of Mexico. More steel is produced here than in any other place in the country. In addition, due its long history, Monclova is full of very exciting and interesting buildings, and the tourist will have all his expectations more than fulfilled if he’s looking for beautiful buildings in the colonial style to admire.
