The Amuleto sits above a hill that offers the stunning panoramic views of Zihuatanejo Bay. This place is very exclusive and in fact, it has only six units. Booking a room here gives guest the pleasure of being one of the few people who would be able to enjoy the view of what may be one of the best places in Mexico.

The venue has its own restaurant, which looks really quaint and authentically Mexican as it is palapa covered. The food served in this restaurant, however is varied and the wine list is also impressive. The restaurant is actually open to public, thus sometimes, it can get pretty crowded, inspite the villa having six units only.

Amuleto has its own infinity pool that looks as if it stretches off the bay. You can enjoy a leisure time here or a romantic escape with your partner.

The villas are all bungaow units decorated with Mexican and Asian influences, it’s really gorgeous and earthy. The bed in the villas are fitted with 1,000-thread-count Egyptian cotton sheets. The furniture is mostly made of bamboo. Being in this place feels like being on a tropical paradise.

You will love the rooftop terrace, as this comes with hammocks for relaxation. The whole area is surrounded by lovely bougainvillea plants and there’s a mini private pool. There’s even a mini-library…and I can’t imagine if you would still want to get out of this place to explore, when this is your very own sanctuary in Mexico.

Ixtapa: Surfing in Las Escolleras

Las Escolleras is one of the best surfing sites in Mexico, and it’s pretty convenient because it’s surrounded by a lot of world-class hotels. You can walk from where you’re staying at and then to the beach to hit the waves and then walk back to take a break and rest.

This site is a favorite among body surfers and the waters are extremely steep or could go as high as eight feet hight. There’s an annual body surfing contest held here and enthusiasts from all over the world come to witness the event.

Surfers call this area wedgey with its backwash wave and ideally, it’s advantageous for advanced surfers, rather than beginners. You’ve got to have awesome surfing skills to be able to conquer the waves here because it can get really monstrous. People have said the waves are really hard to manuever.

However, if you’re really skillful, Las Escolleras is actually fun and exhilirating. You would need the right equipment and gear to be able to go into the water, though, to be able to ride the solid waves.

Other than surfing, enjoying the waters in the shallow area of the beach can make for a fun vacation. Las Escolleras is a hot area, though, so you’ve got to bring with you plenty of ice cold water, if you plan on staying longer in the sands.

The weekends are rather crowded in this beach, but the weekdays are quiet, with few people in the water.

Ixtapa: Posada Real

Posada Real is one of the best hotels in the Ixtapa Zihuatanejo area in Mexico. Localted by the Pacific Coast, this hotel is situated in a typical Mexican village, but the hotel itself boasts of first class services and amenities. The hotel is conveniently located in some fifteen minutes away from the Zihuatanejo International Airport.

What’s great about this is that the hotel is located by the beach front. The atmosphere is airy, a total tropical paradise all year round. It’s also just a few distances away from the island’s shopping center and restaurants. But you can still eat at the restaurant in-house. The food they serve is also great, and hotel guests can actually take advantage of the breakfast buffet.

Rooms are roomy, with a firm bird and few amenities like coffe maker, hair dryer and a safe. It would have been great, though, if there’s a balcony in each room to take advantage of that great view of the coast.

It would be a pleasure to come to this hotel with friends and family, because everyone will surely have a good time. The kids will love the pool, if the beach gets to rough and salty for comfort. The pool actually mimics the blue of the ocean, which I think is more than enough if anyone in your group wants to have a long, refreshing soak in the water. Elsewhere, there are tons to activities you can do in the water or around the hotel.

The staff service is exceptional, and they make sure that our needs are met and served well. Guests are also given free drinks, which is always a welcome treat.

Rates are affodable and it’s best to book months in advance as this is packed during the holiday season.

What to do in Ixtapa: Visit Delfiniti

If you are traveling to Mexico with children, a visit to Ixtapa’s Delfiniti, which is a dophin sanctuary and has emerged to become one of the best-loved tourist destination in the country.

Delfiniti is the kind of place to go to for a terrific dolphin experience that your children will surely marvel at. They can swim with these creatures, who are well-trained, well-loved and friendly…they do love the children, I have to say.

Parents can watch as the kids swim with the dolphins and also see them perform. These sea creatures actually do a little dance and try to sing for their guests, which is why it is really delightful to see and visit. You have to have a video camera with you to capture each moment, as there have been a lot of complaints about how much they charge for these videos and photos.

Kids get to stay in the water for a full hour, but actual swimming with the fishes only take about 15 minutes. There will be guides with the children all the time, so you do not need to worry about endangering both animals and children.

According to studies, this experience of actually swimming with dolphins can be quite therapeutic. In fact, Delfiniti has such a program for special kids and have proven to bring good results.

If you plan on going here, you have to have advance reservation, to ensure your visit.

A Day In Ixtapa: Fun At Magic World

Magic World is one of Ixtapa’s newest family attractions. It’s a theme and water park that is perfect for families traveling to Mexico. Families who want to take a break from the cold autumn air can go here during weekends and enjoy the waterslides and several pools that will surely trigger your childhood fantasies.

The site is open from Tuesdays to Sundays around 10 in the morning to five in the afternoon. It’s great for a weekend visit. There is a hotel nearby, the Ixtapa Palace, which makes accomodations easy and convenient. Of course, there are also many food establishments so you have choices of where to eat and what to eat.

Spending a day here would be glorious, as you don’t have to go anywhere else, especially if you have little kids in the family as the Magic World is really perfect for their amusement. There’s a pirate ship with waterslides that even adults would love to try.

The staff here is quite helpful and friendly, and they can speak good English, you will have no problem asking for what you need.

This is a good option, if the beach is already getting the best of you. Best of all, the price here is very affordable and well-worth it, especially if you hear the kids giggling, shouting and having fun in the water.

Where to stay in Ixtapa: Dorado Pacifico

The Dorado Pacifico hotel is actually a beach resort and spa located at the El Palmar Beach, which is about ten to fifteen minutes away from the airport. The site has an Olympic-sized pool, featured with two water slides. The hotel is perfect for families with kids, as there is also a kiddie pool, as well as a playground for the children to enjoy. Adults can enjoy in the tennis courts or do water sports by the beach.

Considered as one of the better but older hotels in the Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo area, Hotel Irma is a wonderful place to stay when you’re on your honeymoon vacation or just simply enjoying a short break in Mexico.

Located at the La Madera Beach, this hotel is actually a 40 year old establishment that has stood the test of time and other business competitions. The site offers two kinds of outdoor pool, if the beach a few kilometers away aren’t enough. Here, relaxing is possible with a capital R, as staff service make sure you’re getting all your R & R undisturbed. The hotel even offers a massage and spa service, if you would like to be pampered and if you want your body muscles eased off.

The rooms all have this inviting and colorful Mediterranean inspired decoration, where there’s a satellite television and bathroom amenities for your comfort. Basic amenities are complete, so you don’t have to worry about anything else while you plan to explore more of the island.

Dining shouldn’t be a problem as there is an on site restaurant and bar that serves good food. What’s more, everywhere you look, there’s the wonderful view of the Zihuatanejo Bay… that’s certainly something you cannot buy or find if you had to be staying somewhere else.

Capella Ixtapa is a luxury resort hotel with a breathtaking location. It’s situated on a cliff and has a wonderful view of the ocean. When you’re here, it’s almost like you don’t want to leave this place as you get all the pleasures you would need from a relaxing and pampered vacation, and you’re also surrounded by the beauty of nature all around you. Being here, as some people have said, is like being in paradise. It truly makes the trip even more memorable and noteworthy.

The hotel has three restaurants on the site, so there are plenty of dining choices. Aside from that guests can make use of the gym or enlist in a massage service in one of the outdoor spa areas. The place also has an outdoor pool so that you can enjoy the water.

A quaint hotel is what truly appeals to me and the Hotel Y Villas Ixzi does not disappoint in this aspect. Just look at its facade and architecture. It’s not exactly a first class hotel, but I do love the way it feels — like a tropical hideway.

The hotel is located in a residential zone and pretty much feels right at home. Venturing downtown to where the shopping sites and plaza are located is very easy, it is actually just five minutes off downtown. You can walk to and from your hotel when you go around town.

Inside, the hotel has two pools you can take advantage of if you don’t want to spend the day swimming in the beach or some other resort. The site also has wi-fi facility and can compete with modern standards.

Rooms are very comfortable and spacious. It’s air conditioned, which makes it conducive to sleep, given that Mexico has tropical weather. The rooms come with cable television and their very own spacious bathroom. There are 40 rooms total and 16 villas for those who come in groups or visit Ixtapa with family.

The hotel also has a restaurant offering authentic Mexican food, so you don’t really have to go out to sample other restaurants.

Parking space is also ample. I think this place is also a favorite of the locals, if they want to just get away from the hassle of daily living once in a while.

Hotel y Villas Ixzi features air conditioned guest rooms with cable TV and a balcony. A private bathroom with free bath amenities is also included.

Guests can enjoy Mexican cuisine at the Ixzi Hotel’s Los Bombos restaurant.
