Ixtapa is located 5 km away from the municipal seat Zihuatanejo, in Guerrero. This is a baby town of just 6400 people, created in the 70′s by the government to promote tourism in this part of Mexico. The establishment of destination as a touristic center was also supported by the World Bank.

Ixtapa has its own airport, and can also be reached by bus and highway. The town offers five thousand hotel rooms, along with villas and smaller housing for all kinds of budgets.

As a beach resort, Ixtapa is famous for its natural scenery and pristine waters. It’s getting more popular by the way, so if you want to experience it in its virgin beauty, it is not a good idea to waste a lot of time waiting and hesitating.
