It is one of the major shrimp producing cities of northern Mexico and was formerly a major oyster producer. Some of the city’s main attractions are: The Plaza del Pescador that has a statue which is the city symbol; The Neoclassic-Style Antique Bank of Sonora; and The San Fernando Church, built in the XIX century.
