Tequila is mexico’s national drink and the world has Mexico to thank for, for this widely popular and favorite drink. Back in the time when Mexico was still a Spanish colony, the Spaniards ordered that the blue Agave (a succulent plant) be processed to create an alcoholic drink in leiu of brandy and wine which were in very low supply at that time. Thus, came the birth of Tequila.
