mexico has many hidden treasures unspoiled by mass tourism. The National Park, Lagunas de Montebello (Montebello Lakes) also known as Lagos de Montebello, is one of these beauties. The National Park is located in the state of Chiapas to the south.

The lakes are chains of antique Cenotes(natural pools) that time has formed due to the dissolution of rocks. The National Park has 60 lakes and is definitely worth a visit if you are looking for peace and tranquility. The lake’s colors range from turquoise to emerald green. The scenery is really nice all the lakes are surrounded by mountains. You can explore the lakes walking or by horseback riding.

The National Park Lagos de Montebello is a perfect place to practice photography, it’s also good for hiking, camping, and other outdoor activities, and you can even swim in some lakes if you are careful.
