The Yucatan Peninsula is a totally interesting attraction in mexico but most do not notice its geology. The base of the Yucatan peninsula is shaped like cheese. It has natural holes termed as cenotes and most of these holes are filled up with fresh and natural waters.

One famous cenote is near the Ik-kil town which is close to the Chichen Itza Ruins and Villadolid. To reach the water level, you must go down through its lon, winding stairs. A manmade platform was made for people to use to jump and be able to swim around its waters. The platform is about 20 feet from the water and it could really cause your heart to skip if you would jump from that high of a starting point.

So if you plan to go beyond what Mexico can offer aside from just its beaches, then do not forget to make a side trip to this cheesy peninsula and make that jump of your life.

If you are a fan of Bass fishing, then this is definitely the most ideal place for you to head on in Mexico. It also near two popular lakes, El Salto and Comedero, natural waters that are packed with Bass.

Dos Ojos means the one of the biggest underwater caves to be found in the world. It is a very lengthy cave system which measures about 57 km. In Spanish, the term Dos Ojos means two eyes. This is referred to one of the leading entrances that connect the two big caverns.

The water source in the cave is from rain filtered with the help of the limestones, responsible for the very clear water it renders to scuba divers or those who just intend to snorkel. The water temperature measures normally to 77 degrees all throughout the entire year.

There is also a bat cave within the connecting caverns which can be accessed through diving or snorkeling alone. With the help of some diving light, you would be able to see some bats sleeping on the roofs of the cavern.

The usual dives which take place in Dos Ojos are just a bit less than 30 feet to give way for longer time underwater. It is recommended that you do the dive with a trainer for cave diving can be really dangerous to anyone who will do it for the first time. Try one of these best cave dives you can only experience in mexico.

This particular waterfalls is found in the “Chol” area of Chiapas which stands to be one of the most amazing sights of the city. It shows a great display of the river smoothly gliding off the edge of the tall cliff, which measures about 35 meters and down into the deep waters surrounded by fresh vegetation.

Many scuba divers have said that the water at the foot of the waterfall attraction is about 45 feet deep which could be real dangerous for most visitors who are not good swimmers. Nevertheless, its water is very cool and refreshing. Another scuba diver also gave accounts that the pool’s center is cone-shaped which has a 6 feet diameter opening. This could be a waterway that leads to subterranean parts downstream.

There is a tiny walkway which could lead you behind the curtain of the waterfalls. There are also some available cave tours right behind it.

San Blas, a small fishing town in the state of Nayarit is a treasure to behold. It is nestled in a swamp with jungles and mangroves that offers a natural habitat for snakes, crocodiles and birds. People come from all over North America to visit the Estuary, where migratory birds come all year round, and watch all kinds and species of birds. Several species are endemic to the area, meaning they can only be found in San Blas and so it’s no wonder tourists flock to the area to see this. It is also in this area where huge crocodiles, jaguars and boa constrictors said to abound.

Apart from these, San Blas also offers beautiful virgin beaches lined with palm trees. Going to San Blas would feel like hitting too many birds in one stone, pun intended.
