ENJOY NATURE AT LA MALINCHE VOLCANO - TLAXCALA October 20
La Malinche is located in the state of Tlaxcala. It is located to the east of Mexico city and to the north of Puebla, 44 km from the capital. Many of the hikers who come to this volcano, come here because it serves them as training to climb higher volcanoes somewhere else in the world. There are also Mexican families that come here on sunny days to have a picnic or just to enjoy nature. Since the place is pretty safe to climb. you don’t need any special equipment unless you want to reach the top. The trails are pretty much easy to follow so a guide is not really needed either. An expert is always appreciated though.
This amazing volcano commonly known today as La Malintzi has many things to offer visitors such as spectacular landscapes, a wonderful forest, and from time to time, during the winter, you can even see some snow on the top of the volcano. Many people like to come here to get away from the city and find some peace and quiet and also to take pictures of the spectacular landscapes.
If you are thinking of climbing all the way to the top, you should know that the volcano you will have to walk for about 4 hours from the refuge found at the end of the access road. The hike is worthwhile because once you are up there, you will be able to have an amazing view of the place and on a clear day, you might be able to see other volcanoes such as the Popocatepetl, the Iztaccihuatl, and the Orizaba peaks.
Besides enjoying nature, you can also practice some outdoor sports like Mountain Biking, Hiking, Horse Back riding, and camping. Because its high elevation, you can actually see and admire this volcano from different parts of the state of Tlaxcala. This natural area is open from Monday to Sunday. it is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the entrance fee is only $2 USD.
