
La Penita de Jaltemba in Nayarit is a seaside community approximately 65 kilometers north of the airport Diaz Ordaz in Puerta Vallarta. This charming town of about 10,000 residents enjoy the pristine and almost exclusive beach to themselves. A fishing community, it thrives in the attention of foreigners beguiled and smitten by its charm. It is more considered as a retirement place more than a short vacation getaway destination. Along the bay is a turtle sanctuary where turtles come and nest their eggs from late summer to December. You might want to time your visit between these period to see and experience this.
