This Resort town is located in the state of Nayarit which borders the state of Jalisco where Puerto Vallarta is. It is actually a few miles away from Puerto vallarta so you can come and visit both towns. The town of Nuevo vallarta has everything you need to enjoy your vacations. It has modern hotels, most of them with an all-inclusive plan, fancy as well as cheap restaurants, night clubs, and shops.
Nuevo Vallarta also offers visitors a variety of places to stay besides hotels. There are condos for rent and villas, some of which are right on the beach. In the state of Monterrey, to the west of the city, you will find the famous Huasteca Canyon, This is made up of 300 meters cliffs and a park. Because of the different scenery you can find here, there are many different activities or sports to practice here, such as rock climbing. Because of its many nice trails and its spectacular peaks many climbers from all over the world come here and many consider this place its their favorite place for weekend hikes.
This place has also become a popular weekend destination for families, especially since the 1990s. People come in great numbers every day, and especially so when the river is shallower and good for swimming. This also has its negative side because due to the large number of visitors, this place is suffering from a greater amount of left-behind waste. In order to raise some funds to try to work on this problem, the Government began, in 2004, charging families $10 to enter to some parts of the park, but at the same time leaving the climbing areas free to enter.
Because of the rocky scenery, this place offers you the possibility of developing diverse activities, which can be counted. Activities such as long walking, mountain climbing, rappel, swimming, and photography. This place is ideal to pass the day with family or friends. The area is open to the public from Monday to Sunday, and it is open from 9:0am to 6:0 pm. The entrance to the park is free, except for some areas.

Apizaco is located in the state of Tlaxcala. The city’s name comes from the Nahuatl language and it means “thin water place”. The population of Apizaco is of about 49,459. The city is the second largest in the sate of Tlaxcala in population and it’s a very touristic town in the smallest state of the Mexican Republic.
The city began because of its location on this railroad. The city is on the middle of the trip from Mexico city to the Port of Veracruz by railroad. The city is the second in importance after the capital city, Tlaxcala. Because of its location between the two cities of Mexico and Veracruz, It is of mayor commercial and trade value to the state of Tlaxcala. Something for which the city is liked by many is its pleasant weather. The city’s weather is temperate and arid. The temperature in winter can fall below 0 C, and in the summer, it can reach in excess of 30 c. but it never feels extremely cold nor hot.
Many business people from different places come to Apizaco to work in the many factories in the surrounding area. For that reason we can say that Apizaco is a business destination. Having this in mind, there are several hotel set up to accommodate the business travelers to the city. Among them is Hotel Del Angel, which is known for an indoor pool and a cozy bar, making it great for vacationers as well as business travelers. Most of the hotels in Apizaco have restaurants or are located close to restaurants.
This city has several attractions, but the main attraction is The Gothic style Basilica de la Virgen de la Misericordia, built with gray quarry stone. Apizaco has different regional festivals. One of them and the most famous is the Regional feast of Apizaco, which is celebrated in May with an agricultural and industrial exhibition, folk dances, bull fights and other activities. La Malinche is located in the state of Tlaxcala. It is located to the east of Mexico city and to the north of Puebla, 44 km from the capital. Many of the hikers who come to this volcano, come here because it serves them as training to climb higher volcanoes somewhere else in the world. There are also Mexican families that come here on sunny days to have a picnic or just to enjoy nature. Since the place is pretty safe to climb. you don’t need any special equipment unless you want to reach the top. The trails are pretty much easy to follow so a guide is not really needed either. An expert is always appreciated though.
This amazing volcano commonly known today as La Malintzi has many things to offer visitors such as spectacular landscapes, a wonderful forest, and from time to time, during the winter, you can even see some snow on the top of the volcano. Many people like to come here to get away from the city and find some peace and quiet and also to take pictures of the spectacular landscapes.
If you are thinking of climbing all the way to the top, you should know that the volcano you will have to walk for about 4 hours from the refuge found at the end of the access road. The hike is worthwhile because once you are up there, you will be able to have an amazing view of the place and on a clear day, you might be able to see other volcanoes such as the Popocatepetl, the Iztaccihuatl, and the Orizaba peaks.
Besides enjoying nature, you can also practice some outdoor sports like Mountain Biking, Hiking, Horse Back riding, and camping. Because its high elevation, you can actually see and admire this volcano from different parts of the state of Tlaxcala. This natural area is open from Monday to Sunday. it is open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and the entrance fee is only $2 USD.

Calixtlahuaca is located in central Mexico in the valley of Toluca. This archaeological site is a good place for those interested in studying Postclassic-Period Mesoamerican urbanism. This site is especially important because there are not many urban sites where both monumental architecture and extensive residential districts are preserved. Even when the architecture and the sculptures are related to sites in the aztec urban tradition, the lay out of this site is really different from other Aztec sites.
Archaeologist Jose Garcia Payon The excavaton of this monumental architecture at Calixtlahuaca started in the 1930s by Archaeologist Jose Garcis Payon. He started the restoration a number of temples and other buildings and the work continues today. Some of the most outstanding buildings are a circular temple dedicated to the Aztec wind god Ehecatl and a royal palace. The architecture and stone sculpture are similar to the ones built by the Aztec civilization.
There have been many different and interesting excavations that reveal important information about the people who lived here. For example, in the year 2007 a series of houses and terraces were excavated, revealing the form of life of the inhabitants of Calixtlahuaca for the first time. You will be amazed by the different excavations archaeologists have done and what they reveal.
When you visit this archaeological site, make sure you are wearing comfortable shoes and you are carrying lots of drinking water. The entrance to the site is about $5 USD and the site is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the same schedule as in most archaeological sites in Mexico.

The picturesque town of Tepotzotlan is located about 40Km north of Mexico city on the highway that goes to the city of Queretaro. It is a small town located in the state of Mexico for which its inhabitants are very proud of. Tepotzotlan is a pretty little colonial town which was once a center for spiritual instruction in New Spain. Today, you can still see evidence of that in its convent houses and other religious buildings. There is also an interesting museum of religious art, and the restored church is considered one of the many jewels of Mexican Baroque Architecture.
The name of this town comes from a Nahuatl word meaning “among hunch backs”. The name was probably chosen because this town is located near high mountains which look very much like humps. Because of its architecture and beauty, Tepotzotlan has been given the name as one of “The Pueblos Magicos”(magic towns) of Mexico. Because of this, The people from the town have spent much time and effort into rescuing and restoring many of the colonial buildings found here.
Among the many amazing and beautiful buildings you can find here is the church of San Francisco Javier. What makes this building so especial is the fact that it is one of the only XVlll century baroque churches that still preserves its original painting, sculpture, and architecture.
Among the places that you will visit here is the National Museum of the Vice royalty, which was originally a Jesuit college and where you can still find today art and other items from the colonial times. This amazing building was constructed from 1610 to 1740, and it is located at Plaza Hidalgo. If you get the chance to visit this town, please make sure you visit the Aqueducts of Xalapa also known as “Los Arcos del Sitio”. This aqueduct was built in the 18th century, by the Jesuits, for the water supply of Tepotzotlan. It is considered the highest in Mexico because it is 60 meters(197 ft) high.

Tolatongo is a canyon located in the state of Hidalgo, Mexico. It is located about and hour and a half north east of the city of Pachuca and about 198 km. or 3 to 4 hours north east of Mexico city.
The place offers different activities to do and natural attractions. Here you can find two main grottos: the first one is a large one from which a river flows and the second one is a tunnel above it on the same wall of the canyon. as you walk outside the main grotto, you will be able to see some pools in which visitors can swim in the river that comes out of it. The tunnel or second grotto is narrow and about 15 meters long. Inside one part of it, there is also a stream of water where you can swim in as well. both places are good for swimming as the water is usually very clear. In both of the grottos, you will also enjoy listening to the sounds of the waterfalls inside the mountain. Because of the rocky place, this is a good spot for hiking, rappelling, and caving.
The river in the canyon bears the same name; Tolantongo. It is really a pleasure to swim in it because it is warm and because of its nice color. This river gets it’s blue color from the mineral salts that picks up from the mountain.
The entrance to the park costs $2 USD per vehicle and $10 USD per person. With this fee that you pay, you can visit the grottos, the tunnel, the river, the waterfalls, and the camping zone. You can also make use of the restrooms. You can visit this place any day of the week, and it is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Make sure to bring comfortable shoes and a bathing suit when you visit this place. Camping is also available even near the river or the grottos.

Real del Monte is a small picturesque town located in the state of Hidalgo in central Mexico. The town lies at an altitude of 2,700 meters (8,800 ft), making it an ideal place for those who enjoy being in a cool weather. This town is the municipality, and it was at one time the richest in the state of Hidalgo when precious metals such as gold and silver were discovered. After the Spanish conquest, this place was famous for its good mining industry especially since the late 1500s when the Spanish began mining. After sometime The mines were abandoned but were once more opened in the late 1730s.
This small town is located not to far from the capital city of Hidalgo; the city of Pachuca. It is actually 14 Km. north of Pachuca. Many of the people from The city of Pachuca have a weekend home in Real del Monte because of the peacefulness of the place and because of the clean air that you can breath here. Real del Monte is a quiet appealing place to wander around in the well-tended streets, and perhaps out into the hills if you are interested in exploring one of the mines.
The town’s architecture is largely Spanish colonial. The architecture of the houses is especially appealing to visitors because of its red roofs. The town became a very important mining industry when an English company started to operate the mines in 1824. At that time some 350 Cornish miners moved here bringing their food and customs to the place some of which still remain in the town. Among these customs is Soccer, which many people claim that it was played for the first time on Mexican soil here in Real del Monte.
As in other Mexican colonial towns, real del Monte offers you a variety of places to see such as monuments, historical buildings, and museums. Real del monte also offers you great Mexican cuisine in a very colonial and relaxing environment as well as different places where you can shop for great handcrafts made by the locals. If you ever happen to be in the city of pachuca, make sure you visit this picturesque small colonial town.

Papantla is a place located in the state of Veracruz. It is also part of what Mexicans call “Pueblos Magicos” because of its history and customs. This town got its name as a “Pueblo Magico in 2006. This town is well known for its colorful voladores (flyers), its markets, museums, and the magnificent ancient Totonac city of El Tajin.
As far as the weather, we can say that this area is hot and rainy much of the year. The majority of the indigenous people, or Totonacs, live in this hilly area in isolated ranchos or small communities. Most of them work as farmers raising corn, beans, and chiles, as well as coffee, sugar cane, citrus fruits, bananas, and vanilla. Others are artisans who make a living by making figures from vanilla vines.Others make interesting and beautiful crafts such as hats, baskets, and sandals from palm leaves, and others produce traditional clothing, make pottery, and carve musical instruments and other items from local tropical wood.
The voladores de Papantla (dance of Papantla’s flyers) are famous worldwide because of their traditional dance which is a ritualistic performed by the Totonac Indians. The dance is performed by five men who represent the five elements of the indigenous world. The dance consists of these men climbing to the top of a pole, one of them stays on the pole playing a flute and dancing while the remaining four descend the pole with a rope tied by one of their feet. The rope unwraps itself 13 times for each of the four flyers, symbolizing the 52 weeks of the year.
If you visit this traditional town in Veracruz, you are sure to see this traditional and ritualistic dance. It is really amazing to see how these courageous man descend from the top of the pole without using their hands and they do so in a very synchronized way.

The smal fishing village of “El Cuyo” is located on the northeast tip of the Yucatan peninsula. This is where the turquoise blue of the Caribbean mixes with the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
