Thousands cross the border every single year for cheap shopping and party going. Tijuana or “TJ”, as some call it, is a frequented border city of Mexico. It is mainly known, not for the beaches or hair braiding, but the shopping and nightlife it has to offer right outside of San Diego.

Different goods from all over Mexico can be purchased in this border town; many of which are made locally and a lot cheaper. Most all of the leather goods found there are made in Tijuana. From a variety of belts, pants, purses, and even shoes, your savings will be significant on these leather items. Just about everything else is cheaper than in the US but some things not in better quality. Look out for wall decor, furniture, and unique items for gifts.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding Bull Fights in Mexico and other parts of the world. While some are against, many are for them and entertained by it. Tijuana has bullfights every other Sunday between the months of May and October. The El Toreo arena holds many of these fights at reasonable prices. Tickets begin to sale for $12 USD for average seats while the best go for over $40. Check out the local Tourist center there for more info.

While there are beaches and other sites to see, Tijuana at best is a day-trip place to visit. Don’t plan on staying at a high end resort for a family vacation. If ever in San Diego, spend some time at this popular border city!
